Byron (Home Bass’ founder) and I met through an intro from a mutual homie. When he shared the vision of Home Bass with me, I knew it would be a privilege to collaborate with them. They've built a space and creative hub in Uptown Oakland. Dance-focused events have made up a majority of their programming so far, but they're actively working on inviting more forms of expression.
I'm working with them because I firmly believe in spaces like these, especially ones where NOTAFLOF (no one turned away for lack of funds) is a core value. It’s easy to feel that people are there because they value expression and community.
